On the 8th day on tour, the team visited a plantation school supported by MJF Charitable Foundation at Somerset Estate. The children and visitors alike were full of smiles and eager to share their delight. It was apparent that love and kindness knew no boundaries and didn’t need words to be understood.

The afternoon was spent at the beautiful Tientsin bungalow where the guests were treated to a decadent high tea by the resident chef Vajira. The afternoon was spent trading stories inspired by tea and their tea culinary adventure with Merrill J. Fernando – the founder of Dilmah and one of the most respected teamakers in the world. Tea Trails is made up of 4 beautifully restored colonial bungalows, one of which is Tienstin,  nestled among the Central hills deep in the heart of tea country. Overnight stay was at Tienstin where the grand old planter’s life was re-lived accompanied by luxurious modern conveniences.
